Aus der Vorankündigung:
This talk will address the role of the state, and the United States in particular, in managing cooperation and competition in cutting-edge science and technology during the Cold War. It will highlight the role of the US as a global actor, mobilizing knowledge as a tool of foreign policy in dealing with both its allies and its enemies. Cooperation and competition are not mutually exclusive categories: they are entwined with each other in a range of practices that I will characterize as calibrated cooperation.
Der Vortrag findet im Rahmen des Workshops "Rethinking Cold War Science: Cooperation and Competition Beyond Borders", der vom Forschungsfeld 1 organisiert wird, statt. Informationen zum Workshop finden Sie hier.
